Microdosing refers to the practice of taking a very small dose, far below the threshold for producing noticeable alterations in perception, consciousness, or mood. The purpose of microdosing is to achieve subtle, often imperceptible changes in cognition and mood. Microdosing can lead to:
-Increased focus and productivity
-Enhanced mood and well-being
-Heightened introspection
-Improved social interactions

Trial and error are key for knowing what schedule is best for you. Here are a few schedules that are popular to follow:
-1 day on, 1 day off
-3 days on, 4 days off
-10 days on, 1 month off
-
After 2-3 months, it’s recommended to take a month off. This time off is important to incorporate what you’ve learned during your microdosing journey. Always listen to your body. Trust yourself, you’ll know when you need a break.

When microdosing, bad trips are unlikely. A bad trip typically comes from taking too large of a dose (that you weren’t prepared for) causing a body high.
When going on a journey (1g+) bad trips can occur because emotions that have been held down are brought to the surface, feelings within your body become overbearing, or you start to see things that you’ve never seen before. It’s important to remind yourself that bad trips don’t last forever and to be prepared!
How to avoid a bad trip:
-Start with a low dose to gauge your sensitivity and response
-Choose a safe and comfortable environment
-Be in a stable mental state before starting larger doses (1g+). Psilocybin brings up any emotions that may be hiding under the surface so be ready to face them.
How to get out of a bad trip:
-Remind yourself it’s temporary and try to breath and relax. You’re on this trip, it’s time to release control and explore what’s going on!
-Change your surroundings
-Put on a calming playlist or engage in meditation

Typically the answer is yes, but this experience is a personal one. It will depend on your comfort level, tolerance, and sensitivity. It is highly recommended to start on a lower dose on a day where you can relax and see how the microdose effects you.
Remember each strain is different, so if you are trying a new strain, start this process over again.
